We would be delighted to see you at our preliminary auditions, which will be held on the

7th and 8th of April, from 11AM at the Grosvenor Pub, on Mansfield Road in Nottingham.

Here is a little extra information regarding our casting and rehearsal process:

·         There is no need to attend both the dates mentioned- one or the other will be fine.

·         You will not be required to prepare anything for these auditions- they are mostly to get an idea of your acting style and will consist chiefly of devised and improv activities.

·         We are accepting actors from outside Nottingham- however, we can only cover local travel costs during the rehearsal period, and rehearsals are scheduled to begin at 10AM, Monday to Friday (taking place in Nottingham). Actors will also be required to provide their own accommodation.

·         Rehearsals will begin around May 11.

·         We will be performing 9 shows (all less than an hour long) at the end of this project, using 3 teams of up to 5 actors, with each team expected to perform 3 shows.

·         We will be paying 3 actors in total, on a ‘team leader’ basis- the actor with the most lines in his or her team will take on the responsibility of representing the team as a whole. Pay for these individuals will be in the region of £600 for 4 weeks of rehearsals and 3 days of performance. As mentioned, local travel costs and other minor expenses can be reimbursed for unpaid actors.

·         One of our shows (to be announced at auditions) will be taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a week this August.

·         Perhaps most importantly; Halden Theatre DO NOT perform in theatres. As a company we are interested in establishing a more positive, intimate relationship between cast and audience, and to that end the performances for this show will be taking place in unconventional venues such as pub spaces (such as those commonly used for live music) and cinema screens.
